Dance group auditions will take place in two steps:

The first step: Until August the 26th dance groups must send (studentuparadize2010@gmail.com with the subject being Dance competition) a video with one of the best dances performed by the group together with the application form. On the 27th of August the top 10 groups will be announced, that then will continue further on to the second step of the audition.

The second step will take place on the 4th of September where the top 10 groups will dance live one of their best dances, as well as a specially prepared choreography 1 minute in length to one of Dollarman’s most popular songs (Rock This Party, Sound Of Freedom, Hit The Floor).  The choice of the song is up to the group. A precise time and place for the dance groups will be announced individually.

The participants of the competition will be judged by a competent jury. The top three dance groups will earn the chance to show themselves in the celebration in September 24th in Arena Riga, what is more, the best dance group will be able to dance on stage together with Dollarman.

The party gets more impressive every year: this year students will be able to enjoy musical and entertaining programme on altogether 8 stages, where more than 40 artists will perform. What is more, for the first time in history of “Student Paradise” performers from USA and UK will be on stage. Headliners for this year are: Dollarman (USA), who will be performing popular songs, such as “Rock This Party”, “Sound of Freedom” etc.; Gabbi Lopez (UK), a DJ of most remarkable London clubs; as well as Latvian alternative rock legends “Pienvedēja Piedzīvojumi” (LV). Other artists, who will join this trio, are still being kept in secret, but organizers promise to reveal them soon. As a tradition, students will be able not only to dance in rhythm set by their favourite musicians, see breathtaking show programme, take part in various competitions, but also to entertain themselves in 20 interactive university and sponsor stands.

“Student Paradise” is the biggest celebration for opening a study year in Baltics, which gathers more than 10 000 existing and prospective students in “Arena Riga”. “Student Paradise” is being organized for the 4th year with a goal to arrange united celebration for marking the beginning of a study year for all the students of Latvia. In previous years many locally recognizable artists have performed in “Student Paradise”, such as Aisha, Instrumenti, Ivo Fomins, Dzelzs Vilks, Tumsa, Labvēlīgais Tips, Double Faced Eels, Ella, Gain Fast, Z-Scars etc. Moreover, university rectors and state officials like Vaira Vīķe-Freiberga, Nils Ušakovs, Valdis Dombrovskis have taken part in the grand opening of the celebration.
